Original Birke® Flexback band saw blades
Flexback band saw blades made of Swedish steel with hardened tooth tips and flexible back material. The pin-point structure guarantees finely distributed carbides and thus high wear resistance and surpasses comparable saw blades (German steel or special steel) in terms of stability and cutting quality .
The material is hardened to 60 – 62 HRC, blade back straightened.
promise a long service life even with hard materials.
Flexibility and the shape of the teeth counteract the risk of breakage. Cuts
in non-ferrous metals or plastics is possible.
The band saw blades are delivered ground, set and endlessly welded and are ready for immediate use.

What types of gears are there?
- 2 ZpZ = 13 millimeters tooth spacing
- 3 ZpZ = 8.5 millimeters of tooth spacing
- 4 ZpZ = 6 millimeters of tooth spacing
- 6 ZpZ = 4 millimeters of tooth spacing
- 8 ZpZ = 3 millimeters of tooth spacing
- 10 ZpZ = 2.5 millimeters of tooth spacing
- 14 ZpZ = 1.8 millimeters of tooth spacing
TPI = teeth per inch
The gears explained:
- 4 TPI = Four teeth per inch - Coarse toothing for fast cutting.
- 6 TPI = Six teeth per inch - Universal toothing for a normal cutting speed and normal result.
- 8 TPI = Eight teeth per inch - Finer toothing for a good and clean result.
- 14 TPI = 14 teeth per inch - Fine toothing for fine and clean cutting results, more suitable for machining non-ferrous or plastic materials.
- 24 TPI = 24 teeth per inch - Finest toothing for very clean and very fine cutting results. Suitable for non-ferrous materials.
Curve cuts? Here is a guide:
- 6mm band width = 15mm radius
- 8mm band width = 25mm radius
- 10mm band width = 40mm radius
- 12mm band width = 65mm radius
- 15mm band width = 95mm radius
- 20mm band width = 140mm radius
- 25mm band width = 175mm radius
- 30mm band width = 190mm radius
